Fractured Realities is Arandem's debut album, which released after the reveal of Arandem's first few singles Jug, Art and Good Time Song.

The album pulled its songs from all over the place. Songs like Jug, Art, Good Time Song and Justice were songs that vocalist Rane had already written months or even years before the album went into production. Only Held Within, Byte by Byte and Workaholic were songs that were written in collaboration with guitarist Marinus. This was due to the fact that drummer Nico and bassist Jony joined the band only a few months before the albums release.

A key factor when writing the songs was to use very simple scenarios that would be easy to film, because the band did not have the budget yet to produce expensive music videos.
